Reading the Campaign Monitor blog I found an interesting comment that said mentioned something about a png fix for pre Outlook 2007 clients.

I knew of the alphaImageLoader fix but didnt know you could use it with emails too. Neat!

One of the most annoying things a web developer has to deal with is designing/building solutions targeting dated technology. My rant is specifically targeting IE as the standard de-facto browser for most Microsoft web applications. I understand the need for brand loyalty. If I made a browser and a web application, yes I would want that application to be run exclusively from my browser. And, as always, kudos to Microsoft for doing this! You have totally locked out a primary user-base to maintain browser loyalty?

With the current state of the economy it is very common for a company to downsize its workforce. This is the reality of doing business in this day and age. Unfortunately, this happened to me a few days before my daughter was born so I felt extra special. However, behind every rain cloud there is a rainbow… At least I would be able to spend more time with my new daughter. That was huge a plus!

To my surprise it did not take long for companies to ask me in for interviews. So with that, I am glad to say I found a new job.

After a few weeks of bouncing ideas around in photoshop I think I came up with something I like. Originally, I was going for a minimalist site, white background with black text. Something about a clean layout, allowing the user to find the information they are looking for, appealed to me. But, seeing as how just about every minimalist portfolio site round up has at least 3 sites just like this I figured I would experiment with some color and try to mix it up a bit. Perhaps black background with white text?
